Mustafa Ait Idir (also identified as Idr) was born in Algeria in 1970, and later moved to Bosnia, married a Bosnian woman, and became a Bosnian citizen. He was arrested in October 2001 on suspicion of participating in a conspiracy to bomb the U.S. embassy. He was acquitted and released. He was captured again by American forces on January 17, 2002, and was transferred to Guantanamo. On December 16, 2008, Ait Idir was released to Bosnia after being found innocent.
