John’s Life After Prison

Biography
Marilyn Walker is the mother of John Walker Lindh, a 20 year-old American citizen captured in Afghanistan in November 2001 in connection with his participation in the Taliban, and held for 54 days without access to his family and lawyers. For three days the American military held him naked, bound and blindfolded in a metal container during the Afghani winter. John Walker Lindh converted to Islam as a teenager. He went to Yemen to study the Koran, and subsequently traveled to Pakistan and Afghanistan. The media labeled him as “The American Taliban.”
