Ronald W. Meister is a litigator at Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman. His casework includes criminal antitrust work and the representation of religious and civil liberties organizations. Mr. Meister has also successfully challenged the constitutionality of the military death penalty. Beginning in 2014, Mr. Meister has successfully represented a Navy nurse at Guantanamo Bay who refused to carry out orders to force-feed detainee hunger-strikers. The nurse had been at risk of being discharged from the Navy for disobeying orders. The name of the nurse has not been publicly released. Mr. Meister is a former Navy JAG officer and judge. He is a graduate of Yale University and Yale School of Law.
