Ahmed Adil (born in 1973) is an ethnic Uyghur from the Xinjiang autonomous region. He was captured in Pakistan and detained from December 2001 to May 2006. In May 2005, the Combatant Status Review Tribunal determined he was not an enemy combatant. But by January 2006, Adil was still imprisoned in Guantanamo, and wrote to Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, pleading for his release. He was one of five Uyghurs transferred to Albania in May 2006.
