Pardiss Kebriaei was born in Iran. In 1979, her family moved from Iran to Oklahoma. Her undergraduate education was at Northwestern University, where she majored in music (she plays the cello) and Middle Eastern History. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2002. Ms. Kebriaei worked at the Center for Reproductive Rights from 2002 to 2007. In 2007, she joined the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), where she is currently a Senior Staff Attorney. At CCR, she works on challenging U.S. government abuses in the national security context, including representing current and former Guantanamo detainees, and the families of two detainees who died in Guantanamo in 2006. Ms. Kebriaei has also taught courses at Hunter and Brooklyn Colleges of The City University of New York.
