Khalid Al-Odah bio

Khalid Al-Odah is the father of detainee Fawzi Al-Odah, and the founder of the Kuwaiti Family Committee, an organization formed in 2004 by the relatives of detainees to advocate for their just treatment under the U.S. Judicial system. He campaigned for the release of 12 Kuwaiti detainees, and has so far succeeded in getting 10 released. His son is still in Guantanamo.

Al-Odah is a former Lieutenant Colonel in the Kuwaiti Air Force, who trained with American servicemen in the United States and flew missions with them as an ally in the Persian Gulf War of 1991. He has five children, and currently lives in Kuwait City.

Very sad. Khalid Al-Odah is an honourable man. I wonder why so many men of high moral character work outside of government and so many of low moral character work inside.

I was one who was pleased with Mr. Obama’s victory in November of 2008. I thought, here’s a man of high moral character who will lead the United States out of it’s darkest hour. I was wrong. The same warped sense of justice that plagued the Bush years has settled like a blanket over Mr. Obama and his government.
