Shafiq Rasul bio
Shafiq Rasul was born in Britain to parents who had emigrated from Pakistan. In late 2001 he was turned over to the US forces by an Afghan warlord, Rashid Dostrum. He was detained until March 2004, and then returned to the UK more than three months before Rasul v. Bush was decided by the US Supreme Court.
