Akhtar Qasem Basil (born in 1973) is a Uyghur citizen of China who was captured near the Pakistan-Afghan border in 2001 and detained at Guantanamo. During his Combatant Status Review Tribunal in 2004-2005, Basil was determined not to have been an enemy combatant. He was sent to Albania on May 5, 2006.
After seven years in Guantanamo, Jalil Jaladin won his Habeas Corpus petition, and was sent to Bermuda.
