Erwin Chemerinsky is the founding Dean of the University of California, Irvine School of Law. He graduated from Harvard Law School in 1978. Prior faculty appointments include positions at Duke Law School (2004-2008), Gould School of Law, University of Southern California (1983-2004), and DePaul College of Law (1980-1983). He is the author of seven books, the latest of which is The Conservative Assault on the Constitution. He has written over 200 law review articles, and writes a regular column on the Supreme Court for California Lawyer, Los Angeles Daily Journal, and Time Magazine. Chemerinsky also regularly serves as a commentator on legal issues for national and local media.
